Great for this mid-week get-together. Excellent Thai food at competative prices. If you have not yet tried Thai food, now is the time! A great cuisine with dishes from reassuringly mild to subtly hot for those who want to turn the heat up. Thai Concept is in the top ten best local restaurants list.

'St.Michaels Manor' Fishpool Street, St.Albans, Herts.

St. Michaels Manor is privately owned and Richard is the third generation of the Newling Ward family to run it. Close to the centre of of the ancient Roman City of St. Albans, the Manor is set in five acres of beautiful English country gardens and has been in existence since around 1512.

We have chosen this wonderful venue for you to enjoy a leisurely Sunday Lunch of fine English cuisine. You could follow lunch with a walk around the exquisite gardens with the new friends that you will have met over lunch.

Brocket Hall is today an exclusive hotel set on this stunningly beautiful 543 acre estate in Welwyn.

It is home to the award winning and much acclaimed lakeside restaurant 'Auberge du Lac'. The restaurant itself is a former huntng lodge dating back to 1760, and the building proudly sits along the water's edge overlooking the splendour of the estate.

Paul Thompson has just been appointed Executive Head Chef and whilst only 27 he has already had engagements at L'Escargot, The Lanesborough and The St. Martin hotel.

'Darcy's' is owned by the Newlyn Ward family from St.Micheals Manor and managed by Richards' wife Kate. With its award winning Australian chef, this restaurant serves modern European cuisine to a high standard. In the heart of St. Albans this is a contemporary and stylish, yet informal restaurant. Well worth a visit.

Sunday11th @ 1pm 'The Cabinet' at Reed, Royston, Herts.

A beautifully preserved 16th Century Inn and restaurant located in a country setting.

Richard King is their award winning Head Chef and this year 'The Cabinet' has been awarded entries into the 2006 Egon Ronay and 2006 Michelin best restaurant guide.

'The Cabinet' is situated in the small village of Reed, a couple of miles away from the market town of Buntingford, near Royston. This is just off the A10 London to Cambridge Road within easy travelling distance from London. Well worth the effort, and a break from town for the day.
